Hisense 49 – at first the picture was so bad i was ready to return it

I am using this 43′ 4k tv as a computer monitor. I have only had the tv/monitor for a few days but it is amazing. I get 3840×2160 resolution which is crystal clear with no flicker or issues with text as fonts display just as clear as any monitor. My graphics card (gtx 770 4gb, connected over hdmi) will let me up the display to 4096×2160 but i think that is some sort of up-scaling so i leaving it on the recommended 3840×2160. Refresh rate & chroma 444i read some advice that a good monitor should be able to handle chroma 4:4:4, which this monitor can when i have the refresh rate at 30hz, but if i up it to 60hz (using hdmi 3 or 4 as they allow 60hz) my chroma 444 test fails. I am not sure if this is because if my old hdmi cable so i have ordered a new one. Otherwise the tv/monitor can handle 60hz, but for now i am running at 30hz to give me the best picture. Gamingi have only tried star wars battlefront so far, but that runs great, i only run this as 2560x1440p as this is the most my graphics card can handle with decent fps, otherwise the tv/monitor itself works well with no lag or tearing that i can see. Soundnow i am no audiophile but i have decided to replace my old speaker with the tv speakers which are more than adequate.

Brilliant amazon delivery, product packing superb, set up in less than 5 minutes. Fabulous picture and sound totally adequate considering all the hype about poor sound with modern tv’s. If you’re thinking of buying this product then stop thinking and get your hand in your pocket, it’s a must and an excellent buy for the relatively low cost.

Great picture out of the box but even better when you tweak the settings. Professional calibration settings are available online such as these ones from avforums:brightness – 48contrast – 48colour – 44backlight – dynamic control – off, backlight 34tint – g1colour temp – warmwhite balance:r offset -2g offset -1b offsett +6r gain – -1g gain – +4b gain -10fantastic sound for a big screen tv with the added bonus of having the option of dual output for both headphones and tv speakers if you need it. Only a couple of minor gripes:1. Why are only 2 of the 4 hdmi ports located on the side?. It would be better to have all on the side for easy access when wall-mounting the tv. The tv will record directly on to a usb 3. 0 drive but the recordings ui is quite poor, not easy to work out what you’ve recorded.

  • Best tele I have ever had
  • value for money tv
  • Great TV, would be fantastic if not faulty

This is a great 4k tv for a budget price. The picture settings out of the box aren’t the greatest and made me worried at first, but once you play around with the picture settings (i. E backlights, contrast, sharpness) you can really make the picture quality look great. Now the only problem i have with this tv, is that anything non hd looks pretty damn bad. 1080p and up looks great, 720p looks good, but anything below that just doesn’t look good at all. The built in applications are pretty good, netflix and youtube are the main two apps, and they work pretty well on this. The audio is also better than i expected. For the price i bought this televison at (£369), i would say that it was worth the money for such a good looking 4k televison, which also has hdr.Don’t be put off by the less well known brand, this tv is great.

Great tv for the price – stunning picture on 4k images and video – and does well up scaling the older films. Really good to be able to set different parameters on the hdmi inputs (xbox / firestick etc) picture needs a little tuning from standard factory setting – but hopping on youtube and searching for hisense tv picture settings sorted that in minutes. Sound quality and clarity is good – perfect for a standard room and unless you want booming surround sound cinema nights (which i don’t doubt this would be capable of) not really too much need for additional sound bars subs etc. Really happy overall with this. It’s been great watching movies old and new over christmas and the husband was immerswd in gaming with it too. And at a massively reduced price from ‘big brands’ bit hisense is the 3rd largest global tv screen manufacturer – im sure it will sell screens to some of the other household brands and is now making their own tv sets to compete.

What a fantastic tv for the price. I wanted a 4k tv for a while now but prices were way too unbelievably high and then i came across this one great tv it arrived early and picture is absolutely stunning wouldn’t say its proper 4k its up scaled but there’s not much of a difference after downloading the hdr on to it, it has really bad lag when first turned on but give it a half a day and your fine , great tv for the price very happy customer 👍.
