Hitachi 50HYT62U 50 Inch Full HD Freeview HD Smart LED TV – very happy with picture quality and sound(although a sound bar improves

For a cheap television it is everything you require. Even has a netflix button on the remote which is quite handy. Very lightweight and good picture quality especially in hd.

I have it in my living room , very good conectivity to wi-fi , not best sound but you get what you pay for .

Picture is perfect on this tv. However, the sound is truly awful. I’ve tried with several different settings in the menu and it has made no difference. So i bought a sony soundbar – but the tv doesn’t have a digital optical connector and i can’t get a refund on the soundbar. I’ve tried 4 different cables but nothing seems to work. So i now have a soundbar that won’t connect to a tv that has the sound quality of a kazoo.

Very good for the money, next day delivery.

An honest review from a guy who has owned the tv for 7 months. So here’s the deal, i have owned this tv for 7 months, so i hope for my review to be of a more reliable standard. Tv quality: 4/5 – the quality is, just as written on the box, full hd. There is a slight issue with quality when using the netflix app, as the app takes about 10 – 15 seconds to properly connect to the wi-fi which leaves you with terrible quality for a small amount of time but otherwise the tv quality is great. Smart tv quality: 3/5 – this tv is definitely a smart tv, as it has bbc iplayer, bbc news, netflix, facebook, skype, to mention just a few, however there is no 4od or demand5 or itv player which is, at times, a drawback. Yet it should be noted that if you have a video(s) on your usb you can insert it into the tv and you can play them with ease. Sound: 4/5 – whilst the sound is of a good standard, i recommend a sound bar to go along with it, as the sound only goes up to 69 for some daft reason and it isn’t always great. Startup: 5/5 – once you turn it on, the tv does actually start up pretty quickly (4-5 seconds). Once again just a tip that i have experienced after dealing with the tv for a long period of time, is that the tv will take around 30 – 60 seconds to connect to the internet using wi-fi, meaning that whilst you can watch ordinary live tv straight away, to try an access the tv’s ‘smart’ features will take up to a minute.

Best tv i’ve ever had and at an amazing price this is an all singing all dancing smart tv.

Great tv also nice budget price hence not a lot. Great tv also nice budget price hence not a lot of scart connections or hdm connections or a swivel base stand. Otherwise it’s up there with the standard bench mark sets like toshiba and panasonic. Light as a cork compared to my 6 year old toshiba which costs a lot more. Sound is like a portable tv soo if your fussy about sound get the hitachi sound bar or another brand sound bar. Nice chunky remote with big numbers ideal for the elderly and it’s very easy to set up with out reading the instruction manual providing you have common sense. Instruction manual could be better as it’s hard to follow.
