Sexy sounds from the people at logitech. If you’ve read my previous reviews about audio technology, you’ll understand that i’m a huge critic when it comes to sound quality. Keep this in mind as you read this. First off, the build quality is extremely good. The speakers are light for what they are, but they are very strong and well-built, especially when i ‘pump up the volume’ and want to live my inner bass god. There’s no rattle and all speakers have a mesh over them to protect them from dust and other annoyances. Secondly, the sound quality was completely beyond what i expected for something that cost around £50. Obviously it took a little bit of fiddling to get everything absolutely perfect (remember i desire perfection with audio) but out of the box there really wasn’t anything to complain about. Thirdly, the expansion capabilities.
Even my neighbours who love the sound of hardcore drum and bass at 3. Still going strong providing music to the masses. Even my neighbours who love the sound of hardcore drum and bass at 3 in the morning love them. They even bang along to the beat on the walls although they cant keep time very wellsound quality is great and bass is booming if you want it to be.
Please read for static noise problems. . These are brilliant, and definitely have enough power to fill a small to mid sized bedroom. The sub is rather small, but is a an absolute pocket rocket. Not had any problems with them, plus they look nice too. I did read comments saying about static noise etc. Yes, when i first got them i too had this problem. But that was down to a cheap sound card, which wasn’t able to filter out background noise from my pc. Every sound-card is subject to the background noise, as it uses the bus on the motherboard, just the more expensive ones are better at filtering them out. Also double check your sound-card is grounded properly, and that you use a metal case. My solution was to get an external sound-card that uses usb, never had static noise since.

“An extremely decent set of speakers at a very fair price: Logitech Z506 speakers review, 5.1 on the cheap, My Logitech Z506 Review!”
Very good but not amazing. . Bought to replace a 10 year old set of dell speakers that wouldn’t stop buzzing. Easy to set up (although there weren’t any instructions anywhere in the box) and sounds good. I use it in my study (a small 10ft x 9ft) and i was still limited with placement of the speakers given the length of the speaker cables. I’ll buy extensions but slightly annoying. The sound is good/very good but not amazing. You couldn’t ask for better clarity but i was looking to buy another set for the living room if they were impressive but they just aren’t loud enough. The other really annoying thing about them is they don’t work immediately once you hit play on an itunes track. There is a delay of anything from 10 to 30 seconds before they all of a sudden come on. This doesn’t happen every time and once they’re on, they stay on but it does bug you.
Just rigged these up yesterday to my home projector. Set up was very easy with all plugs colour coded. Amazed at how powerful and clear the sound is from such a budget set of speakers. I have to have them on almost the lowest setting so as not to disturb my neighbours. I daren’t try turning them up full blast for fear of cracking the windows. The base box provides a really good, heavy (and controllable) base sound providing a nice authentic cinema feel. The only downside so far is that the wires to the front speakers are a little on the short side (but this obviously depends on the size of your room). It’s pretty easy (and cheap) to buy extension cables if necessary so this shouldn’t put you off.
First off i would like to say that this speaker system is a bargain. At just shy of £70 it is easily the best value for money speaker set i could find. Only took about 15 minutes to set up. Packaging was great, very safe. Bass is aswesome, very deep and very rich. I would thoroughly recommend buying these for any wanting to fill a room with sound and get plenty of bass for those cinema moments. Playing battlefield 3 on these is just incredible.
